VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS
No need to print the logos, I will have printed logos for you. You can attach to your shirt or place on your hat – purely optional If you guys want to tell clean jokes –
I will give each of you opportunities to go up on stage and tell a joke. Nothing like prime-time stage time, doing stand-up-comedy... Make sure you print a few jokes or send the jokes to your email on your cell phone that you can potentially read and refresh your memory Hmm...don’t remember telling you, but I think you might have some fun! And perhaps overnight fame in Saratoga too.
And as a preamble to tomorrow’s fun, how about fun with weekend homework; make sure you read this page prior to tomorrow http://www.siliconvalleystalent.com/celebrate-saratoga.html Minor updates to my detailed instructions too below – please read it thoroughly.
Bring sun screen, water, cash to enjoy the downtown food and your dancing feet.
We should all be dancing at the slightest opportunity – so wear your jazzy dance gear if you so desire.
And why don’t you bring a friend along to have some fun? Let me know if you have questions.

Hello all,
Thank you for taking the time to volunteer at Celebrate Saratoga.
This is going to be a blast! Get ready to have some fun
You should ask your parents to drop you as close to the gas station in downtown, 15 minutes prior to the start of your slot, and you can walk over to our location.

Performers will bring their own music on a smart phone.
Some will also need to setup musical instruments on the stage
Please review this page http://www.siliconvalleystalent.com/celebrate-saratoga.html which will provide you some background of what we are doing

Here is a description of your role
Equipment Mgr - Your role is to ensure that the stage equipments are in order. Mics have the proper height for the performer etc. Point out the power strip on the stage for the performers.
Stage Manager - The stage manager is the face of our team – smile a lot and have fun.Look at the printed lineup of performers and help check-in performers and answer any questions. Each performer - who arrives to perform - will come talk to you first. You will be seated on a throne...er I mean desk.
Pass on instructions about how they will hook up their ipad/ipod/cell phone.
You will pretend to be Mr. or Ms KNOW-IT-ALL - I will help you.
Time Manager You will have a printed list of the lineup. Talk to me if we are running over. You will keep the show on track. You will advice me on how we can keep the show running on schedule. Bring a watch please
Playlist Manager The playlist Manager ensures that songs do not creep over – a critical role. Also ensure that performers DO NOT perform an extra track.Your job is to hook up the ipads/cell phones that performers bring. You will also stop the track and play the track. Check with the performer which track they want to play and the sequence. You should also have a printed list of the performers sequence- that will have the number of songs the performer is singing etc. Make sure you don't let the playlist continue playing beyond what it should. Let the performers sing the 1 or 2 or 3 tracks they are supposed to and disconnect the ipad/iphone and give it back to them before they leave. Make sure they take their stuff with them – I hate auctioning these “lost and found” stuff on eBay; not cool at all.
Sound Manager -You will manage the sound setup. It is simple. You are responsible for lowering or increasing the volume of sound, based on how it sounds. There will be other issues, I will help you.
Video : Capture video using our video camcorder. We are seeking volunteers here.
Camera: Take pics (only Nisha will bring her own camera. For all others a camera will be provided). If you want to bring your camera along, feel free to do so.
My role: I will be the chief-assistant to each of you, at your beck and call and also be anchoring the event.
All scouts - wear your CLASS A uniform.
OPTIONAL: I will have “Saratoga’s Got Talent” logo, stick it to your straw hat or any other hat you are planning to wear. This does NOT apply to Scouts.
That would make us feel part of the same team and folks will know you are part of the management team .
We will also meet tomorrow and I will walk through the details.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Rishi
